The public is invited to join the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT), elected officials, community stakeholders, and project partners at 10 am, Friday, August 14, for a ribbon cutting ceremony commemorating the official opening of the new Highway 65B bridge over Crooked Creek in Boone County.
Parking and a shuttle service will be available at the Creekside Community and Aquatics Center, 515 S. Spring Street, Harrison, Arkansas.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on the new Highway 65B bridge.
The new bridge replaces the previous structure and includes several major upgrades designed to improve safety, meet modern traffic demands, and enhance long-term durability. Improvements feature wider travel lanes, a dedicated center turning lane, a traffic signal, and expanded sidewalks on both sides of the bridge.
The project addresses both current transportation needs and future growth in the area, enhancing connectivity for residents, businesses, and visitors traveling along Highway 65B.
“This bridge represents a major investment in the safety and efficiency of our local transportation network,” said ARDOT Director Jared Wiley. “The wider lanes, turning lane, updated traffic signal, and expanded sidewalks will make a noticeable difference for everyone who uses this corridor.”
The Highway 65B bridge project is part of ongoing efforts to modernize key infrastructure corridors across Arkansas and support continued economic development and regional mobility.
This $10 million contract was awarded to West Plains Bridge & Grading LLC of West Plains, Missouri.
