CALHOUN COUNTY | July 22, 2026 

Highway 274 (S. Main Street) in Fordyce between 1st Street and Walnut Street is scheduled to close from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, July 27.

Weather permitting, the closure will allow Union Pacific Railroad to make repairs to the train tracks.

To reach the west side of the closure, traffic will take Highway 274 east to Calhoun County Road 83/Highway 205, Calhoun County Road 83/Highway 205 north to Highway 8, then Highway 8 west back to Highway 274. To reach the east side of the closure, traffic will take Highway 274 west to Highway 8, Highway 8 east to Calhoun County Road 83/Highway 205, then Calhoun County Road 83/Highway 205 south back to Highway 274.

Digital message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage will be in place to notify motorists of the closures and detour routes.
