Construction Requires Lane Shift on Highway 270 in Hot Springs

Home » Construction Requires Lane Shift on Highway 270 in Hot Springs

GARLAND COUNTY | August 5, 2022

Construction to widen Highway 270 (Albert Pike Road) to five lanes in Garland County requires a traffic shift through the intersection with Highway 227 (Mountain Pine Road) in Hot Springs.

Weather permitting, crews will shift traffic away from the Highway 270 westbound outside lane between Bull Bayou Road and Crystal Hill Road. Five lanes of traffic will remain open for eastbound and westbound traffic. The new traffic pattern is scheduled to begin Monday, August 8. This new traffic pattern will enable crews to continue work to realign Highway 227 with Highway 270.

The public is advised to be cautious when traveling in the work zone and watch for slower traffic speeds.

This project (Job CA0607) is part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program and includes widening 1.5 miles of Highway 270 to five lanes and bike lanes, extending generally from Fleetwood Drive to Highway 227 in Garland County. This project also includes improvements to the interchange with Hwy. 227. More information on this $22.6 million project is available at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com.
