Highway 172 (Lisbon Road) in Union County between Murphy Road and Highway 82 west of El Dorado is scheduled to close from 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, to 2 p.m. Thursday, September 24.
Weather permitting, the closure will allow crews to perform a pipe replacement. Highway 172 will remain open to local traffic only on either side of the closure.
A signed detour will be in place. To reach the east side of the closure, traffic will take Lisbon Road west to Highway 82, Highway 82 west to Highway 57, Highway 57 north to Highway 160, Highway 160 east to Highway 7, then Highway 7 south back to Lisbon Road. To reach the west side of the closure, traffic will take Lisbon Road east to Highway 7, Highway 7 north to Highway 160, Highway 160 west to Highway 57, Highway 57 south to Highway 82, then Highway 82 east back to Lisbon Road.
Traffic will be controlled with the use of barrier walls, barricades, and signage. Drivers are urged to use caution while traveling in the area.
