I-30 River Bridge Demolition Requires Temporary Traffic Slowdowns in Little Rock and North Little Rock

Home » I-30 River Bridge Demolition Requires Temporary Traffic Slowdowns in Little Rock and North Little Rock

PULASKI COUNTY | January 13, 2023

Construction work to continue dismantling the existing I-30 Arkansas River Bridge will require two temporary traffic slowdowns on the new river bridge in Little Rock and North Little Rock.

Weather permitting, highway police and construction crews will briefly slow eastbound traffic starting at Roosevelt and westbound traffic starting at the I-30/I-40 split for approximately 30 minutes along the new river bridge on the following dates:

  • Thursday, January 19, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Friday, January 20, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

This will allow crews to conduct underwater blasting of the existing I-30 river bridge piers. These traffic impacts are treated as a precautionary measure as the underwater demolition will have little observable effect.
