LONOKE COUNTY | September 26, 2022
Join Arkansas Department of Transportation officials and local dignitaries at 9 a.m. Friday, September 30 to commemorate the completion of intersection improvements in Ward.
A ribbon-cutting will take place at the intersection of Highways 367 and 319 in Ward to celebrate the intersection’s new alignment, turning lanes, wider surface area, and traffic light installed with a railroad interconnect system to communicate with the upgrades to the Union Pacific Railroad control system.
The installation of the traffic light marks Ward’s first four-way traffic light.
“The first traffic signal for any city is a big improvement for not only traffic flow but for those looking to move their business or residence to it. Improvements like this show the commitment of the city and the ability to adapt to such growth,” said Ward Mayor Charles Gastineau. “Ward’s new traffic light not only makes this intersection much safer, it also signals bigger and better days ahead for our community as we continue to move forward.”
This project enhances traffic operations, safety, and improves traffic flow for the driving public. Hardrock Construction, Inc. of Russellville won the $1,017,945 contract and completed the work ahead of schedule.
