Interstate 57 northbound and southbound between Exit 22 near Austin and Exit 82 near Newport will have nightly, intermittent outside lane and ramp closures in both directions beginning 3 a.m. Friday, August 7, and continuing nightly for approximately 16 weeks.
Weather permitting, the closures will allow contractors torehab the existing ramps.
The closures are scheduled nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. The estimated completion date for the work is Monday, November 30.
The contractor will not close northbound and southbound ramps on the same exit at the same time. Additionally, the contractor will not conduct lane closures at two consecutive exits in the same direction at the same time. Work for each ramp is planned to be completed over a two-night period. All motorists will be required to use an alternate exit.
Digital message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage will be in place to notify motorists of the closures.
