The Interstate 40 (I-40) Hernando de Soto bridge over the Mississippi River between Memphis and West Memphis is scheduled to have daily eastbound and westbound outside lane closures during the following dates and times:
- The eastbound outside lane on the I-40 Bridge is scheduled to close Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. starting Monday, June 29, through Thursday, July 9 – with the exception of Monday, July 6.
- The westbound outside lane on the I-40 Bridge is scheduled to close Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. starting Tuesday, July 7, through Thursday, July 16.
There will be no closures on Friday, July 3 through Monday, July 6 for the Independence Day holiday.
Weather permitting, crews will be performing routine bridge maintenance.
Digital message boards, cones, and signage will be in place to notify motorists of the closures.
Drivers are encouraged to:
- Use caution when traveling through the work area.
- Watch for crews and equipment entering or exiting the roadway.
- Obey all posted signs and speed limits.
- Allow additional travel time.
