Each month, we electronically transfer funds (EFT) to financial institutions 2-3 business days before the payment date to ensure retirees receive their payments on the first business day of the month. In September, the Federal Reserve Bank – the central bank of the United States – will be closed on Monday, September 2nd for the Labor Day Holiday. As a result, you may receive your deposit on September 3rd when the Federal Reserve Bank reopens. If you have questions about when your financial institution will deposit your payment, please contact them directly.
