Home » Short-Term Lane Closures Scheduled on I-40 Hernando De Soto Bridge for Repairs

CRITTENDEN COUNTY | May 2, 2023

Two eastbound lanes on the I-40 Hernando De Soto Bridge over the Mississippi River will be closed overnight Wednesday, May 3 into Thursday, May 4 for repairs.

A routine inspection revealed damage to an expansion joint that could become a traffic hazard. The damage does not represent a structural concern for the bridge.

The two inside eastbound lanes will be closed beginning 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 3 and are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Thursday, May 4. The lane closures will be in place at the east end (Memphis side) of the main arch spans.

The outside eastbound lane will remain open. The westbound lanes will not be affected.

ARDOT will perform the repair work and set up the lane closures. Traffic will be controlled with signs and barrels. Please use caution when traveling through the work zone and plan for delays.
