Construction to improve Interstate 49 (I-49) at the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard interchange in Fayetteville will require a temporary lane closure on I-49 from 9 p.m. Monday, August 17 to 6 a.m. Tuesday, August 18.
Weather permitting, the southbound left lane of I-49 will be closed while crews perform pavement work.
Then, at 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, southbound traffic will be routed off I-49 at the Exit 62 ramp (Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) and then back on to I-49 at the entrance ramp from MLK Jr. Boulevard.
Weather permitting, the traffic shift will allow crews to pave and stripe the roadway. Traffic will be restored to normal operations by 6 a.m. Wednesday, August 19.
Digital message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage will be in place to notify motorists of the shift.
