Overnight closures are scheduled on Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Boulevard (Highway 62) in Fayetteville under Interstate 49 (I-49) from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly on the following dates:
- Tuesday night, July 14 – Wednesday morning, July 15
- Wednesday night, July 15 – Thursday morning, July 16
- Thursday night, July 16 – Friday morning, July 17
Weather permitting, the closures will allow crews to remove the construction supports for the newly constructed I-49 southbound bridge.
A signed detour will be in place.
Westbound traffic on MLK Boulevard will be detoured onto I-49 north to Wedington Drive (Exit 64). Traffic will use Wedington Drive to return to I-49 south, then back to MLK, where they can take MLK Boulevard (Exit 62) westbound.
Eastbound traffic on MLK Boulevard will be detoured onto I-49 south to Cato Springs Road (Exit 60). Traffic will use Cato Springs Road to return to I-49 north, then back to MLK where they can take MLK Boulevard (Exit 62) eastbound.
