CLAY COUNTY (7-16) – Replacing a bridge on Highway 1 near the city of Piggott will mean temporary closure of the highway, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Weather permitting, crews will close Highway 1 from Highway 62 to County Road 547 while they work to replace the bridge. This closure will remain in place 24 hours a day until work is completed. This work is estimated to be completed in late 2021.

Traffic will be controlled by barricades and signage. Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
