Highway 118 between Gooden Road and Felts Street in Joiner is scheduled to close around the clock from 8 a.m. Monday, April 6, through Thursday, April 16th at 5:30 p.m.
Weather permitting, the closure will allow crews to replace the superstructure units on an existing bridge.
A signed detour will be in place. To reach the west side of the closure, traffic will take Highway 118 east to Highway 61, Highway 61 north to Highway 181, Highway 181 west to Interstate 55, then Interstate 55 south back to Highway 118. To reach the east side of the closure, traffic will take Highway 118 west to Interstate 55, Interstate 55 north to Highway 181, Highway 181 east to Highway 61, then Highway 61 south back to Highway 118.
Digital message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage will be in place to notify motorists of the closures and detour routes.
