CARROLL COUNTY (9-28) – The next phase of construction on the Highway 187 Beaver Bridge will require continuous closure, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
Weather permitting, beginning Monday, October 4, crews will begin reconstruction of the south abutment of the Beaver Bridge over the White River. This work requires continuous closure of the bridge, including weekends. The bridge will remain closed for the duration of this work, estimated to take four weeks to complete.
Beginning Sunday, October 10, crews will work on-site seven days a week to expedite the progress and reduce the length of the closure.
After this phase is complete, estimated to be early November, crews will resume cleaning and painting the towers and suspension cables. This work will require daily closures from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, weather permitting.
Orange barrels, cones, message boards, and signage will control traffic. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ARDOT.gov. You can also follow us on Twitter @IDriveArkansas for traffic and @myARDOT for everything else.
