Petroleum Storage Tanks Advisory Committee
Arkansas operates a petroleum storage tank trust fund that provides reimbursement for eligible storage tanks for certain corrective actions and third party damage claims due to a release of petroleum. The Petroleum Storage Tanks Advisory Committee on Petroleum Storage Tanks, established by Arkansas Act 173 of 1989, consists of seven members who are appointed by the governor. They represent state, industry, and private interests. The primary duty of the committee is to advise DEQ and make recommendations regarding claims for payment from the Arkansas Petroleum Storage Tank Trust Fund based on Regulation 12.
